Job Description
Glasgow Prestwick Airport have exciting opportunities for Aviation Services Agents to join our team, the roles are permanent, 40 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a rotational shift pattern.
Owned by the Scottish Government, Glasgow Prestwick Airport directly employs circa 450 people and supports over 4,000 jobs across the aerospace cluster. Situated in the heart of Scotland’s aerospace industry we offer a diverse range of in-house aviation services providing vital connections to the rest of the world.
We are seeking highly organised, detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Aviation Services Agents at Glasgow Prestwick Airport. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating aircraft movements and ensuring every flight is dispatched safely, efficiently, and on schedule. As part of our Aviation Services team, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operation of the airport.
- To perform the daily dispatch, load control and fixed based operator operations.
- To ensure a high level of customer service is provided to all passengers and crew.
- To ensure aircraft are handled and dispatched in compliance with all Regulatory, Airline, Company and Departmental policies and procedures.
- To co-ordinate all dispatch and ramp activities during the turnaround of passenger, freight, military, and private, aircraft ensuring this is done in accordance with all operator and local procedures (Aircraft Turnaround Plan).
- To prepare load distribution and loading instruction reports for passenger and freight aircraft.
- To keep all relevant parties fully informed of all aircraft movements via a flight schedule, airport information systems, phone and email.
- To liaise with Airfield Operations on the allocation of aircraft parking stands.
- To maintain an accurate log of aircraft movements and services provided.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Previous experience in aircraft ground operations, ramp handling, or a similar role is advantageous.
- Knowledge of aircraft loading procedures, weight and balance calculations, and aviation safety regulation’s role is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Due to the nature of this role candidates need to be 18 or over.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, night shifts, and public holidays, based on operational requirements.
- Knowledge of the Air Traffic Control system is desirable.
- Knowledge of aviation weather is desirable.

- Comply with UK Right to Work checks and provide associated relevant documentation at interview.
- Confirm your identity by providing a copy of your passport or driving licence.
- Provide GPA with a complete five-year referencing history inclusive of all employment, self-employment, and education. Any gap period of 28 days or more must be covered by a personal reference to which you must also provide contact details.
- Upon request, provide a Criminal Record Check Certificate (Level 1 Disclosure) from Disclosure Scotland. This must not display any disqualifying convictions as detailed on the Civil Aviation Authority website.
- Where applicable, undertake a Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) and understand that deployment to any security related activities is conditional upon the satisfactory result of such a check.

Notes for Guidance
