School Holidays are Cleared for Take-Off!

The typical Scottish summer showers couldn’t dampen the holiday spirit at Glasgow Prestwick Airport today as hundreds of passengers jetted off to soak up the Mediterranean sun – marking the start of the school holiday summer season.

Five packed Ryanair flights flew out to Barcelona, Alicante, Murcia, Palma and Faro and there was much excitement in our departure lounge.

Thrilled Isabella and Harrison Dean were travelling with mum Kirsty and dad Gregor to Alicante for a big family holiday with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Today also marked the post-Covid return of a special charter flight to Lourdes. 131 passengers flew out to the pilgrimage site in France, near the Pyrenees mountains just after 5pm.

Over the next six weeks Prestwick Airport will welcome thousands of holidaymakers to the departure lounge as they fly with Ryanair to one of 11 destinations:-
