Prestwick Airport Raises £345,000 for Charity in Just Over a Year
Glasgow Prestwick Airport hosted a cheque presentation event celebrating an outstanding year of fundraising with each of the Airport’s three nominated charities receiving a cheque for £65,000.
At the event, Doing It For Daniel Foundation, Ayrshire Hospice and The Beatson Cancer Charity each received a cheque for £65,000, bringing the total raised this year to £195,000. The funds were generated through the hugely successful Run The Runway 2025 event and the Airport’s corporate golf day.

This presentation builds on the Airport’s previous donation of £50,000 to each charity following Run The Runway event in November 2024. In total, Prestwick Airport has now raised an outstanding £345,000 in just over a year, meaning £115,000 has been donated to each of the three charities.
These funds will make a meaningful difference to the vital work carried out by all three organisations, supporting patients, families and communities across Ayrshire and beyond.
Prestwick Airport’s HR Director Sonia Rafferty said: “We are incredibly proud of what has been achieved through our fundraising efforts over the past year. The commitment shown by our staff, event participants, sponsors and partners has been phenomenal. Supporting these charities is extremely important to us, and it is rewarding to see the positive impact these donations will have.”
Representatives from the three charities joined Airport colleagues at the presentation and highlighted the positive impact the funds will have on the work they do supporting people who have received a cancer diagnosis.
Prestwick Airport’s charity fundraising for 2026 will support Dementia/Alzheimer’s causes.
