Glasgow Prestwick Airport (GPA) has an exciting opportunity for a Security Compliance Manager to join our dedicated Security team.

This position would be suited to someone with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and knowledge of Aviation Security Legislation would be advantageous.  Candidates should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to successfully lead, motivate and influence internal and external stakeholders.

The role reports directly to the Security Operations Manager, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Job scope:

This role is responsible for all security compliance and production of the Airport Security Programme.  It requires the ability to produce high quality Manuals and working instructions for Aviation Security.  Additionally, this position is accountable for the management of operations within the GPA Security Department, ensuring compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.

The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications and training:

  • Trainer Qualification at SVQ Level 3 or higher.
  • Ability to complete up to ASM/Level 3 Security Training.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Create, develop, and implement changes to meet regulatory requirements and embed new processes within the operation.
  • Test processes are fit for purpose by creating performance monitoring measurements and report to the SOM monthly.
  • Create monthly reports on KPIs in conjunction with the Security Operations Manager and agree rectifications undertaken.
  • Implement all measures required by the UK National Aviation Security Program (comprised of UK and EU legislation).
  • Attend regulatory meetings to keep up to date with future security developments.
  • Support the Security Assistant Managers in the upskilling of supervisors’ knowledge and understanding of security legislation and GPA policies.
  • Lead on security culture improvements across site with the support of the Security Operations Manager, and internal and external Stakeholders.
  • Line management accountability for the ID Unit and associated regulation.
  • Conduct contingency / emergency planning exercises.
  • Lead on Security Management Systems (SeMs) in conjunction with Security Operations Manager.
  • Update the department working Instructions annually with support of other Security Managers and Security Supervisors.
  • Conduct internal and external quality assurance tasks and provide reports to the SOM as required.
