Glasgow Prestwick Airport (GPA) have an exciting opportunity within our Air Traffic Control department for a Manager to join our dedicated team.

Owned by the Scottish Government, Glasgow Prestwick Airport directly employs circa 300 people and supports over 4,000 jobs across the aerospace cluster. Situated in the heart of Scotland’s aerospace industry, we offer a diverse range of in-house aviation services providing vital connections to the rest of the world.

This position would be suited to someone with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.  Candidates should have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The role reports directly to the Operations Director, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Accountable for the overall operational and financial performance of Air Traffic Control

(ATC). To be accountable for specific safety related tasks as defined in Appendix 1: GPA

Safety Accountabilities (based on CAP700) and contained within GPA Safety

Management System (SMS) Manual.

Essential requirements

  • Have held a senior management post within an Operational ATC environment
  • Knowledge and experience of CAA regulatory oversight processes
  • Excellent knowledge of Safety Management Systems

Desirable requirements

  • Previous supervisory experience in an Operational ATC environment
  • Previous experience as an ATC examiner
  • Basic Budgetary and financial skills
  • Qualifications and experience of Auditing and Incident Investigation
  • Ideally have had some leadership and management training
