It was announced in April this year that Ryanair had brought back the popular Rzeszow, Poland route bringing their total winter destinations to 10 from Glasgow Prestwick Airport.
The first flight will take off on Thursday 05 October at 1700, transporting 174 passengers including 15 delegates from Rzeszow Airport, Polish TV and radio.
Glasgow Prestwick Airport’s Chief Executive Officer, Ron Smith commented:
“We’re delighted to be bringing back direct connections from Glasgow Prestwick Airport to Poland for winter 2017/18. We have a significant amount of experience in serving the passengers who would use this route to visit friends and family, for business travel or who are looking for a city break with a difference.
“Glasgow Prestwick Airport to Rzeszow will be the only route available in Scotland over the winter months to South East Poland. Our excellent transport connections including direct motorway access, low cost car parking and half price rail travel from any location in Scotland straight to the terminal building make our airport – and this route – an affordable, convenient and enjoyable way to experience Eastern Europe.”
Rzeszow has found its place in the group of the most elite cities in Poland, with a growing number of investments, rapid progress and a very high standard of living.
The regional tourist destination ranked second place for the most attractive semi-large city with churches, synagogues, its Old Town and the Main Market Square being the best preserved in the country.
Rzeszow Airport’s President M.Tabisz, added:
“We are delighted to have Ryanair launching new route from Glasgow Prestwick to Rzeszow, capital of Podkarpackie region in south-eastern Poland. Our passengers will no longer have to seek for other airports to get to Scotland on direct flight, saving time and money.
“The new route should help to increase a volume of tourists traveling in both directions. This is also an opportunity to boost the business relations between Scottish and Polish entrepreneurs. We are ready to continue joint marketing efforts with Glasgow Prestwick Airport’s authorities in order to promote this route.”
The 10 destinations available to fly to from Prestwick with Ryanair are Alicante, Lanzarote, Tenerife, Barcelona, Faro, Malta, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Malaga, and Rzeszow.
