Glasgow Prestwick Airport puts on bus service to give Glasgow residents improved access to low cost flights

Wednesday 26 October, 15:10 Europe/London

Glasgow Prestwick Airport and Dodds of Troon express early morning and late night services between Buchanan Bus Station and the airport continue for the winter flights.

The service from Glasgow’s Buchanan Bus Station departs at 0330hrs and arrive at the airport at 0415hrs.  Passengers with flights returning late at night can also use this service, which will wait outside of the main terminal building and depart at 2359hrs or once the final pre-booked passenger boards.

The new service allows passengers to make their way to and from the airport for £10 for a single journey.  This is ideal for people who want to take advantage of the low fares on offer for flights from Glasgow Prestwick Airport and who want to use public transport to get to the airport.

Passengers are recommended to pre-book tickets, although tickets can be purchased on the day of travel from the driver (subject to availability).

Talking about the new service, Alison Blackman, Glasgow Prestwick Airport’s Client Experience Manager, said:

“Glasgow Prestwick Airport is committed to listening to our customers and ensuring that we do everything we can to make it as easy for them as possible to enjoy our services.

“We were aware that due to some of our scheduled flight times, customers from Glasgow and surrounding areas who want to use public transport may find this a challenge at these times.

“With a high demand for the flights that we have departing and arriving at these times, it was absolutely crucial that we work in partnership to provide this important service.

“We want to give our customers as many options as possible.  The continuation of the X99 allows customers to take public transport, park their car for an affordable price or take advantage of the 5 minute window of free access to the car park to be picked up or dropped off.
