PRESTWICK’S LAURA PLANS THE PERFECT CUP OF COFFEE!

COFFEE-LOVING passengers at Glasgow Prestwick Airport are now able to sample the perfect cup of coffee...thanks to the talents of Yates Bar Barista* Laura Timpany.

Laura (23), from Prestwick, has made it through to the finals of a prestigious national competition to find the best brew.

Selected from twenty-four participants, each of the eight finalists will produce four espresso and four cappuccinos to industry expert standards at the Barista Championships organised by leading travel caterer SSP UK in London on Tuesday 30 March.

The coffees will be marked upon technical ability, presentation, consistency and taste balance.

Laura will also have the chance to flaunt her natural flair and passion for coffee by creating a signature drink from scratch. This section offers the perfect opportunity for each finalist to display their knowledge and creativity about the wonderful world of coffee.

Food travel experts SSP UK designed the Barista Championships to showcase best brands for those seeking a quality cup of coffee whilst on the move.

Laura said: “It's an honour to be representing Prestwick at the official “Oscars” for coffee-making, I just hope I can go on and win!”

Prestwick Managing Director Iain Cochrane said: "I wish Laura all the best at the championships. Prestwick's perfect as a hassle-free airport and now, hopefully, the only place for perfect coffee!"
