Security & Shopping
The restriction on liquids, aerosols and gels does not mean the end of airport shopping - far from it. The guide below will help to explain the new arrangements for shopping before and after security at Glasgow Prestwick Airport.
At Glasgow Prestwick Airport: Before security
You can continue to purchase all items at the variety of shops located before security. Be mindful, however, of purchasing any liquids, aerosols or gels. Do you plan on taking them through security?
If they are more than 100ml, then they will have to be surrendered at the security screening point, and will be destroyed.
At Glasgow Prestwick Airport: After security
Direct flights (flights with no stopovers)
If you are travelling direct to your destination (meaning that your journey ends at the first point it lands after leaving the UK, (e.g: Prestwick - Dublin), you can generally purchase any product after security, including liquids, aerosols and gels.
Flights with a stopover
If you are travelling on flights with multiple stops / change of aircraft (e.g: Prestwick - Dublin - New York), you can continue to purchase a range of duty-free and tax-free items after security - including liquids, aerosols and gels.
However should you wish to carry these items beyond your first stop, we recommend you discuss your options with a sales assistant before purchasing, as restrictions on liquids, aerosols and gels for outbound flights vary from country to country.
