Glasgow Prestwick Airport - New Front of Terminal Access Arrangements
In light of new heightened security measures introduced at UK airports, we have made some changes regarding access to the front of terminal.
Whilst arrangements for vehicles have changed, passengers have experienced minimal disruption because of these measures.
We are now in the final stages of improvement works to the access roads, pathways and car parks to keep things running as smoothly as possible.
Front of Terminal Access Roads
We have now completed works to create new access roads to the front of terminal area. Due to security restrictions only emergency service vehicles are now permitted at the front of terminal.
Pick Up and Drop Off
All pick-ups and drop offs will continue to take place in the car park located at the front of the terminal. Works are still ongoing to create a designated pick up and drop off area however, the new access routes and multiple exits offer an improved service compared to the previous layout. A 5 minute free of charge period remains to pick up and drop off. This car park is now solely for the use of cars. No 4x4 passenger vehicles, vans, buses, mini buses and trucks etc, are permitted into this area and restrictions are in being introduced to prevent access. Such large vehicles and enclosed vehicles should now use the terminal short stay car park (formerly car park 1).
Disabled Car Parks
Disabled customers can use the designated disabled bays in the car park immediately at the front of terminal. On production of a valid disabled badge at the car park information desk, disabled passengers will be entitled to ½ an hour free of charge. If passengers exceed this period they will be charged for the full duration of their stay. Both car parks closest to the terminal are fully DDA compliant with ramps for access to the terminal building.
Car Parks
Car parks 3 and 7 remain unaffected.
Car Park Shuttle Buses
The Car Park shuttle buses now drop off in the public bus stops located on the A79.
Buses - Stagecoach
These buses are using the public bus stops on the A79. Access to buses destined for Glasgow and the north can be accessed from the railway bridge located in the terminal building.
Coaches
Each Coach Company will be charged £8.00 per entry of our Terminal Short Stay Car Park. Companies will be Invoiced three times per year ( April / August / December ). All Coaches are subject to a 1 hour maximum stay.
All coaches must use the (all vehicles lane). Follow short stay car park signage through car park to coach stop which is beside the fence line at the A79. On exit use the ( all vehicles lane) and press the
help point on exit to register your company name and the barrier will be raised.
Taxis
Ayr Black Taxis (ABT) is the Airport’s authorised taxi company. These taxis pick up and drop off at the designated Taxi area in the car park closest to the terminal building (formerly Car park 2).
Delivery Trucks and Contractor Vehicles
Large delivery trucks should report to the attendant at the entrance to the Car Park. A full search will be undertaken on your vehicle before access can be provided to Hudson Place.
